I'm Rahlita Thornton from the Thornton Esquire Law Group, PLLC. Today, I want to talk to you about being in a rideshare vehicle when the vehicle doesn't smell as fresh as you would like it to. I've had that happen to me on a couple of occasions. I know that I can smell a Febreze smell, but sometimes it's just not that pleasant.
So rideshare drivers, can you please make sure that you're keeping these vehicles fresh for your passengers? Get some Febreze. Keep your air freshener in there. Keep the windows down, whatever you need to do, because sometimes it's just offensive to get into a vehicle and it's stinky.
Skip The Personal QuestionsThe other thing that irks me, and I've talked about that in the past, is that you drivers are talking too much and asking all kinds of questions. You're trying to get in people's business. "Oh, where do you work? How many years?" That's not your business. So you have to have a conversation, but all of these questions about this, this, and this?
Pay Attention To The RoadYou're talking far too much. You should be paying attention to the road instead. I'm a passenger, and I don't really know you, and I don't know how you drive. I don't know how safe I'm going to be, so I would really appreciate keeping the conversation to a minimum.
I'm a pleasant person. I enjoy being around other people, but I just don't like it when rideshare drivers talk too much. I wish you would just pay attention to the road because I want to make sure that I get to where I'm supposed to be going right now.
Too Much Conversation Is distractingI do engage in some conversation, but I try not to go overboard because too much conversation is distracting not only to me. And sometimes I want to sleep when I'm a passenger in a rideshare vehicle.
You're supposed to be keeping your eyes on the road. So try to remember that if you are a driver. I'm not trying to be offensive or rude. I'm just trying to make light of some situations that we have to deal with.
